let's keep it up !
So why the F does espn have us at number 12, or some nonsense like that?
probably because it's wrong and the CAA is not marquee enough for the shills at ESPN.
Warren Nolan has the CAA 7th
More evidence that ESPN sucks. add it to the list.
The increase must be attributable to UD because they beat a Top 25 team.
Their best two wins are better than VCU's best win.
Man, you and T-Mac have VCU on the brain.
I know they beat the last place team in the CAA, but I haven't checked their schedule/results. Who were their two good wins against?
Since one of Hampton's losses is to a team VCU beat, I think we can safely say that this is false. Unless you were talking about either Howard or Lafayette. In which case this would still be false.
No reason to let facts get in the way
Because 1 win determines a whole season and thats a super effective way to judge who is better?
The best team VCU has beaten so far according to the RPI is 169 Winthrop. UCLA has been terrible so far, losing at home to Montana by a ton (since you are losing the "this team beat this team argument".
How anyone can argue that a team that beat Xavier/Clemson/Richmond isn't as good as a team thats 3 best wins are Winthrop,UCLA and W&M is beyond me. No wait, it isn't, its just one delusional VCU fan.
Yeah, because "this team beat this team so that team is better than that team" is a factual argument.
VCU fans are getting depressing.
Come on people. This is a thread to be proud of the accomplishments of our fellow CAA breathren. Without the performances of our CAA counterparts, there's no way the conference would be ranked this high. Be happy and supportive, I implore you. At least in a thread like this.
Exactly how I feel. I use fact and logic base arguments and this is what we get in return.
Bad news for the Association thus far in Richmond. VCU is taking a beating from the Spiders and they are down 17 to 40.
We want a CAA win, for the stronger the Rams are, the stronger the Association is RPI wise.
Second half is all set to start. Go Rams!
Richmond taking out years of frustration on VCU, after getting beat by ODU they have to get this one.
I can't say I'm not enjoying this a litttttttttle bit.
Someone needs to make this a Facebook group. lol
ODU did its part by beating another A10 team too bad VCU couldn't do the same.
VCU is fighting back with 5 minutes left; down by only 16.
http://warrennolan.com/basketball/2011/conference/Colonial Athletic says the CAA has 6 teams in the Top 100 of the RPI.
Towson (298) and Georgia St. (276) rankings are not that much of a surprise. If William & Mary (231) and Northeastern (185) had pulled off some wins over the better teams on their schedules the CAA RPI would have only a couple of anchors instead of four. For the sake of CAA at large chances I hope NU beats St. Louis (207) and Princeton (80); and William & Mary beat Liberty (208) and Longwood (209). A W&M loss against UNC (20) probably won't hurt that much, but the upset would do wonders for the Association.
Hawks up 12-5 on Wake at the first media timeout. Amazingly, a UNCW win would probably HURT our current RPI (67th). I'm not expecting a win but the hot start is nice.
Hawks up 37-27 on Wake at the under 4:00 timeout in the 1st half. Not bad for 9-point underdogs!
45-35 Seahawks at the half.
65-54 6min to go
77-58 2mins to go
It ended 81-69.
So vcu now has officially 1 win that is even half way decent, a mediocre ucla team.
